In 2014 we finished a construction-permit and detailed design of a small, 1-span bridge in Uwieliny. In the same year the construction works began and we took up the role of a Bridge Inspector. The bridge was designed as a reinforced concrete rigid frame of theoretical span L=7,2m and the width of 10,5m. Apart from the bridge itself, we designed and supervised works concerning road illumination and the rebuilding of an underground telecommunication line. The river banks are strengthened with gabions and stone boulders.
The bridge axis has a horizontal arch, which required the widening of the road by 0,5m in comparison to straight assess roads. That required the kerb to have quite a curvy geometry – to ensure that kerbs on the bridge and road meet together.
We also designed a bus-stop platform, which had to be elevated above the existing terrain. To ensure the safety of passengers and due to lack of space for slopes, the platform is erected with retaining walls. The walls are typical reinforced-concrete, but are founded on steel piles – barrier poles – driven into the ground.
