Bridge objects on the Wyszków ring road: Bridge over the Bug river and viaducts on access roads.
During the years 2000-2004 we prepared designs for several objects on expressway S-8 on the ring road of Wyszków, of which the greatest was the bridge over the river Bug.
The bridge is a 9-span, post tensioned concrete object, with two separate decks. The theoretical span is 600m, while the main span is L=136m long
The three spans over the river were erected using the cantilever method. The rest of the bridge was made on traditional scaffolding.
The total width of both decks is B=27,2m. The foundation is on bored piles.
Interesting facts
The bridge over the Bug was finished in 2008. At that time, until the year 2010 we held the national record for the longest single span made of concrete!!
The main span over the river consists of 27 box cross section segments, erecting from the piers towards the middle of the span. The abutments have staircases inside and steel doors, allowing the maintenance crew to enter the interior of a box girder of the bridge.
